What does gratitude look like and how can we show gratitude and not just thankfulness?

These were questions that Upper and Lower School Counselor, Nancy Secrest, asked Lower School students during chapel this week. She went on to explain that to show gratitude, one must stay alert of the role of others in our lives. We must take our eyes off of ourselves and put our eyes on others. Nancy challenged students to start a Gratitude Journal writing down three things each day that they are grateful for.

To get the students thinking about what they are grateful for, Nancy showed a short video called Kid President’s 25 Reasons To Be Thankful. “Life can be tough. It’s important to always take time to remember the things that make life awesome.” – Kid President
