Established in 2009, the Alumni of the Year award serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of our community, past and present, and the embodiment of our school’s mission in the lives of its graduates.
This year, it is with great pride that we bestow the title of “Alumnus of the Year” upon David E. Bechtel, Class of 1994.
The Bechtel family’s connection to Worthington Christian School runs deep. Dave’s parents, Bob and Judy, dedicated themselves as long-time faculty members, shaping the minds and hearts of countless students. Dave’s siblings, Holly and Rob, as well as a niece and nephew, also proudly graduated from WC.
A graduate of The Ohio State University, Dave has charted a remarkable path in the world of music as a producer and sound engineer in the vibrant city of Nashville. Yet, Dave’s impact is not only in the studios of Music City. As an active member of Fellowship Bible Church, Dave’s heart for service led him to spearhead an outreach initiative to the people of Slavonski Brod, Croatia.
At the May 26 commencement, we have the privilege of glimpsing into Dave’s inspiring journey through a brief video presentation showcasing the flourishing ministry he has helped cultivate in Slavonski Brod.
What sets Dave apart is not merely his professional success but his unwavering commitment to utilizing his talents and passions for the betterment of others and the advancement of God’s kingdom.
