Distinction celebrates the collective success of the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes.
Worthington Christian School is proud to announce that it has earned Silver recognition on the 2024 AP School Honor Roll, an honor awarded by the College Board to schools that demonstrate high achievement in their Advanced Placement (AP) programs while broadening student access to college-level courses.
This distinction celebrates the collective success of the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes. This recognition reflects the school’s commitment to academic rigor and ongoing efforts to prepare students for college and beyond.
A Commitment to Academic Excellence
At WCS, students have access to ten AP courses starting in their sophomore year, offering them the chance to engage in advanced studies in math, English, history, and art. These courses, designed to mimic college-level curricula, encourage students to develop critical thinking skills, hone their problem-solving abilities, and explore complex topics in depth.
Tim Kraynak, the Upper School principal, expressed pride in the achievement:
“Our students have shown remarkable perseverance and dedication in their academic pursuits, and this recognition reflects their efforts. Our teachers have worked hard to provide these students with the support they need to succeed in AP coursework, and we are thrilled to see the results of this collective effort recognized by the College Board.”
Why AP Matters
Advanced Placement courses play a vital role in shaping students’ academic futures. By participating in these challenging courses, WC students not only prepare for the demands of college but also have the opportunity to earn college credit. AP success is often a predictor of college readiness, with students who score a three or higher on AP exams more likely to thrive in higher education.
As part of WC’s commitment to providing a robust academic environment, the school ensures that AP courses are accessible to as many students as possible. The increase in AP course enrollment and exam success shows the strength of the school’s college-prep culture and its emphasis on maximizing student potential.
Looking Ahead
Worthington Christian remains committed to academic growth and achievement. With continued efforts to expand access to AP courses, more students can engage in rigorous studies, better preparing them for college and life beyond.
