Youth Basketball
Winter Warrior League
The Warrior Basketball League is a long-standing tradition of the WC Athletic Department, created to give young athletes an enjoyable, instructional, and competitive basketball experience. The league is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade, and participation is welcomed from both WC and non-WC students.
Players are grouped into separate leagues based on gender and grade level, and will all receive equal playing time. Before games are played, coaches will lead a 20 minute practice focusing on teaching and developing fundamental basketball skills. All games are officiated and consist a 35 minute running-clock. Teams will compete in a full schedule of games throughout the 6-week season starting January 3 and ending February 7. Each player receives a league jersey to keep.
Registration, Cost, and League Policies
The cost to participate in Warrior Basketball League is $125 per player, and payment is required at the time of registration. There are no cuts, guaranteeing each registered participant a place in the league. Registration is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade, and to provide the best experience possible, registration will be capped at 320 players and teams will be capped at 10 players. Registration will be open until December 12, or until the 320-player limit is reached.
During registration, families will have the option to list one friend their son/daughter would like to be paired with during team placement. To honor these requests, the friend request must be mutual—for two players to be placed together, each must list the other on their form.
