Meet some of the new faces on our sidelines this Fall

VARSITY CHEERLEADING | ALEXA MARLOW

Alexa Marlo is from Upper Arlington, Ohio, and has been a competitive and sideline cheerleader for ten years.

In addition to competing, Alexa has been a competitive cheerleading coach for three years and a tumbling and gymnastics coach for five years.

Alexa is passionate about helping young girls find confidence through the sport and building their faith in Jesus. Alexa is a strong believer in teaching by example through hard work and dedication.

HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL | KATIE VAN ARENDONK

As a former high school and collegiate athlete, Katie found participation in sports to be a pivotal component of her spiritual development. She attended a Christian school from kindergarten through college and had the opportunity to compete in cross country, track, and basketball at the collegiate level.

Katie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science and Psychology from Dordt University in 2004 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from the University of Iowa in 2006. During her career as a physical therapist, she worked in various settings in various states.

Katie’s prior coaching experience was at the middle school level, having coached volleyball and track and field for four years in Wisconsin. She joined the WC track and field coaching staff as an assistant last spring. As a coach, she believes that every athlete has great potential for personal and relational growth. She considers it a great privilege to foster and train young athletes in the life skill to “keep keeping on” despite setbacks, failures, challenges, and difficulties. Katie’s aim is to train athletes to work hard as unto the Lord, to pursue excellence on and off the court as a means of worship, and to compete with integrity and respect.

Katie lives in Powell with her husband Kyle and four children: Anika (10th grade), Amira (8th grade), Hadley (6th grade), and Harrison (4th grade). They moved to Ohio from Wisconsin last summer for Kyle’s job at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Their family joined the WC community last fall, and Katie is excited to join the volleyball coaching staff this season.

HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY | LISA GODORHAZY

This will be Lisa’s first time coaching for WC, but she is no stranger to the program. Two of her children ran cross country for WC all throughout their middle school and high school years.

Lisa is a long-time runner and is passionate about the sport! She has run every distance, including a marathon and a triathlon! She loves running for the discipline it provides, as well as its physical and mental benefits. Lisa is a big believer in cross-training and enjoys staying active with biking, swimming, and rowing when she isn’t running.

Coach Godorhazy is excited to work with the team to grow in their running abilities and see God work in their lives spiritually through this sport. She loves being outside, experiencing nature, and seeing the world God has given us! Godorhazy and her husband, Brad, have three kids: Harrison (WC ’20), Mia (WC ’22), and Lola (12th).

JV GIRLS SOCCER | ALANNA CRAWFORD

Alanna (Raikes) Crawford (WC ‘19) will be joining the Girls Soccer coaching staff as the Head JV Coach. In the Fall of 2023, Alanna began coaching with Club Ohio North as an assistant to current WC Boys Soccer Head Coach, Dan Roads, on the U13 & U15 girls top teams.

During her time playing soccer for the Warriors, Alanna was a four-year varsity starter, 3x First Team All-League, 3x First Team All-Central District, the MSL Player of the Year in 2018, First Team All-State, and All-Midwest Region Team selection her senior year. Transitioning to the collegiate level, Alanna went on to play soccer at Taylor University from 2019-2022 as a center midfielder, graduating in three years with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations & Communications.

Through her years of playing and coaching, Alanna believes playing with a sense of freedom in Christ and freedom in knowing that your worth is not found in the number of goals you score or save is the key to growing & succeeding as a person and player. She is excited for the upcoming fall season to continue sharing her love for the game of soccer while working hard, building relationships, seeking ways to win, and having fun alongside the players.

Alanna is a sales consultant for NetJets Aviation. She is married to Conner Crawford (WC ’18), who also attended Taylor University.

jv GIRLS SOCCER | CARA TOMALLO

Cara is a graduate of Centerville High School, where she was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for soccer and track. She played soccer at George Washington University and was named First Team All-Atlantic 10.

Cara has a passion for helping young women find their true identity in Christ. Encouraging them to see themselves through His eyes and use their unique gifts, talents and strengths to be a light for others as they continue to grow with the Lord.

Cara has coached at the Club level, and was part of the WC soccer staff from 2015-2022, where she had the opportunity to coach her two daughters, Kate (WC ‘19 WC) and Paige (WC ‘22). She is excited to be returning to the WC soccer staff!

Cara earned her Master’s Degree from Miami University and worked as a school psychologist for over twenty years. She currently serves on two non-profit boards and, with her husband, Mark, is an elder at their church.

MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL | CALLIE OGDEN

Callie is new to Worthington Christian this year as our 7th-grade Volleyball Coach. Callie and her husband Sam moved from Erie, PA to Worthington in the Fall of 2023.

While in Erie, Callie coached for three years at the varsity level at Northwestern High School. She currently works in healthcare marketing, supporting Smile Doctors Orthodontics and FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers.

Coach Ogden holds a standard for her players to use their gifts from God on the court and as a team to love one another, show mercy to opponents, and have strength when games don’t go our way. She looks forward to leading the Warriors into an amazing season and developing her players in the sport and their faith, both on and off the court.

When she is not at work or coaching athletes on the court, she loves cooking and baking, walking her dog Ziti with her husband, and exploring new restaurants in town.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS TENNIS | MOLLY TRUMBO

Molly (Peterson) Trumbo (WC ’01) said Worthington Christian was a place that grew her young faith in Jesus Christ at the age of eight to a more mature and sound understanding of biblical teaching in high school (thanks, Mr. Burns!). You would typically find her cheering, tumbling, and stunting at WC Basketball games and then onto Palm Beach Atlantic college cheerleading.

After getting married to Chad Trumbo and having two children, Saely (6th Grade) and Fitz (4th Grade), she decided it was time for a new hobby. As her niece Winnie Shaw (WC ’23) joined the WC middle school tennis team, Molly and her sister also decided to learn the game. She joined a few leagues and instantly committed to improving her game. Years later, the Middle School boys team needed a coach, and since her nephew was playing, Molly decided to give coaching a try alongside her sister, Abigail Shaw (WC’ 98).

Molly is back for a season with the middle school girls, coaching with her good friend, Sarah Longhouse. She is excited to share the love of tennis with such a great group of young ladies. She hopes these girls will continue to play for the rest of their lives and learn to share the love of Christ through playing with integrity on the tennis courts.

Join us in welcoming our new Warrior coaches!
