Worthington Christian welcomes Jason Huff to the Facilities Team as a Day Porter at the Lower School. He attended Mt. Hood Community College and comes to WC while also serving on the custodial staff at his church, Stonybrook Methodist, where he attends with his wife, Kristina, and daughter Maddalyn (WC ’34).

We asked all of our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Jason!

What is something someone might be surprised to find out about you?
I used to drive trains. And yes, honking the horn is as fun as you think it would be.

What is the first job you ever had?
One summer, I worked for a deck and fence construction company – very hard work, it remains the most difficult job I’ve ever had.

If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
I could name a million things, but I would love to be better at math. It’s the one subject I could never quite grasp.

What’s your favorite home-cooked meal?
We have started making schnitzel and spaetzle, German-breaded pork with a yummy egg noodle. It has become a family favorite.

What was the best advice you’ve ever received?
When I was young, a coworker of my dad’s said that he never knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. It was nice to hear that from an “adult.” You don’t need to have your life laid out for you—you will figure it out.

Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
In college, I had a rough and grumpy Music Theory teacher. I didn’t really like him, but by the end of the term, I realized that I had learned more in that class than in any other – I have really grown to appreciate that over the years.

What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
Ephesians 3:14-21
