Worthington Christian welcomes Kelly Smith as Third Grade Teacher in our Lower School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Science from The Ohio State University. Kelly comes to WC having previously served at Fairfield Christian Academy. She and her husband, Jeff, attend Vineyard Columbus.

We asked our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Kelly!

What is the first job you ever had?
I worked in the “Wee Folk Room” at the Dublin Community Recreation Center.

What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I love old movies! Movies with Doris Day and Jimmy Stewart are my favorites.

If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
Sewing and knitting.

What makes a “good day” at school?
One where everyone is engaged, happy, and laughing.

Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
Mrs. Thompson, my third-grade teacher. She made learning fun, and we got to be upstairs!

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Leave things better than you found them. It was used in relation to physical spaces, but I think it applies everywhere. Leave spaces, places, environments, and people better than you found them.

What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
Psalm 37:5.
