A Commitment to Accountability and Stewardship
At the beginning of March, Worthington Christian School reached the two-year mark of our three-year Greater Things Strategic Plan. We share this update in the spirit of accountability, transparency, and gratitude for how God continues to work in and through our community.
This report provides a high-level overview of progress across our three priorities. A more detailed report is available for those who wish to explore further.
Priority One: Cultivating Spiritual Formation in Students
Over the past two years, we have taken meaningful steps to strengthen the intentional formation of students’ faith—both inside and outside the classroom.
- Established the Office of Spiritual Formation and hired a dedicated director
- Launched new discipleship opportunities, including Warrior Group Bible Studies and student-led initiatives
- Integrated service-learning experiences across grade levels and academic content
- Expanded student leadership pathways, including servant leadership courses and initiatives
- Strengthened partnerships with local ministries and increased opportunities for students to serve
These efforts reflect a growing commitment to developing the mind of Christ in students, equipping them to embody grace and truth as servant leaders.
Priority Two: Investing in Faculty and Staff
Recognizing that our people are central to our mission, we have made significant investments in supporting, developing, and retaining exceptional faculty and staff.
- Implemented meaningful compensation increases and bonuses over multiple years
- Enhanced employee benefits, including support for medical expenses
- Launched programs to recognize exemplary performance
- Expanded professional development and leadership pathways, including the Leadership Academy
- Continued to prioritize the recruitment and development of highly qualified, mission-aligned educators
These efforts are designed to ensure that those who serve our students are supported, equipped, and encouraged in their calling.
Priority Three: Enhancing Infrastructure and Operations
To support both current needs and future growth, we have made important progress in strengthening the school’s infrastructure and operational foundation.
- Advanced campus safety measures, including new systems, staffing, and facility enhancements
- Conducted audits and planning to improve technology infrastructure, including the transition to a new learning management system
- Initiated development of a long-term facilities master plan
- Made significant progress in debt reduction, ahead of schedule
- Strengthened charitable support, including growth in SGO giving and the school’s endowment
These efforts position WC to serve students and families with excellence, both now and in the years ahead.
Looking Ahead
While there is still work to be done in the final year of the plan, we are encouraged by the progress made thus far. We remain committed to thoughtful stewardship, continuous improvement, and faithful execution of our mission.
