As we begin a new school year, we want to take a moment to highlight a few new faces at WC, as well as some familiar faces stepping into new roles.
Worthington Christian is excited to welcome Matt Mills as the Building Substitute Teacher at the Upper School. Matt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies from Baylor University and a Master’s in Political Science from The Ohio State University. Matt joins us after previously serving as a Teaching Assistant in the Political Science Department at The Ohio State University. You may have seen Matt around WC before, as he is married to Upper School English Teacher Noelle Mills.
We asked staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Matt!
What is the first job you ever had?
Food runner for a nice restaurant in Jenks, Oklahoma.
What’s something people might be surprised to find out about you?
I drink a lot of coffee, but I’m not sure I can really taste it because I don’t have a sense of smell.
Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
My Social Studies teachers from sophomore to senior year combined were my favorite teachers. We all had similarly dry sense of humor, and I was inspired by their knowledge.
What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
Anything Noelle makes.
If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
Ancient Greek or Latin.
What is your favorite family tradition?
During the holidays, we often had a marshmallow fight with jumbo marshmallows.
