Worthington Christian welcomes Mikayla Ellis as a Fourth Grade Teacher in the Lower School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Taylor University. Mikayla comes to WC having previously served as a Substitute Teacher in Indiana. Mikayla, originally from North Olmstead, is new to Columbus and excited to find a church community here.
We asked our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Mikayla!
What is something people might be surprised to find out about you?
Even though I grew up in Cleveland, I am a huge Steelers fan.
What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
I don’t care so long as mashed potatoes are involved.
If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
Building things from scratch so I could make custom things.
What makes a “good day” at school?
When something funny happens that gets my students and me belly laughing.
Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
Hands down, my third-grade teacher. She made school so fun that I remember crying in bed after the last day of school because I was going to miss her so much – but I got to go to her wedding later that summer!
What’s your most-used emoji?
Two hands making a heart.
What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
Matthew 6:34
