Worthington Christian welcomes Alissa Estes as a Biology Teacher at the Upper School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Public Health from Taylor University. Alissa comes to WC having previously served as a Biology Teacher Newark High School. Alissa and her husband, Steve, attend 614 Church.
We asked our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Alissa!
What is something people might be surprised to find out about you?
I love backpacking and have been on several week-long canoe backpacking trips to Canada.
What is the first job you ever had?
I worked in a greenhouse, dead-heading plants all day.
What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
Spaghetti!
What is your favorite family tradition?
My mom’s side of the family always does a white-elephant gift exchange at Christmas – with a few twists!
Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
My biology teacher. He made learning fun and made me feel very confident about science in college.
What emoji confuses you the most?
The upside-down face.
