New Faculty and Staff: Jim Stimmel

Worthington Christian welcomes Jim Stimmel as the Calculus Teacher in the Upper School. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Taylor University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Ashland University. Jim returns to WC after serving as a Math Teacher in the early 90s, but most recently served as a Math Teacher at Hilliard Davidson High School. He and his wife, Sharon, have three adult children, and they attend Northwest Chapel.

We asked all of our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Jim!

What is your favorite family tradition?
Going to Ocean Isle Beach.

What is the first job you ever had?
Pumping gas at a Marathon station in Hicksville, OH.

If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
Playing guitar.

Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
Mr. Kaltenbauch, who taught bio, chem, and physics. He made science amazing with his stories and imagination.

What makes a “good day” at school?
A great attitude.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Live in the present.
