Worthington Christian welcomes Rachel Clutz as an Intervention Specialist in our K-2 building. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Messiah University. Rachel is a familiar face at WC, having served as a long-term sub on the Intervention Specialist team at the Upper School last year. Rachel and her husband, Michael, are parents to Hosanna (WC ’35), Ellis (WC ’37), Albert (3), and Miriam (6 months), and their family attends Linworth Baptist Church.

We asked our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Rachel!

What is the first job you ever had?
I worked at a bank all through high school doing data entry.

What is your favorite family tradition?
The house across from ours has a huge Christmas light display that they turn on the week of Thanksgiving. We love going over to walk through it the night it turns on.

If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
Electrical or contracting skills to speed up our home renovation projects.

What makes a “good day” at school?
Connecting with a student or coworker in a new way.

Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
My 10th-grade health/PE teacher was really fun and made everything memorable. He always used catch phrases like, “This isn’t Burger King, you can’t have it your way!”

What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
I love soup, but one of my favorites is leczo stew over mashed potatoes.

What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
Romans 12:9-13
