Worthington Christian welcomes Elizabeth Short as a History Teacher in our Upper School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing from The Ohio State University. Elizabeth comes to WC having previously served as a Substitute Teacher for Worthington and Hilliard City Schools. She and her husband, Ken, have three adult children, and their family attends Worthington Presbyterian Church.

We asked our new staff members several “getting to know you” questions; we hope you enjoy learning a bit more about Elizabeth!

What is your favorite family tradition?
On New Year’s Eve, we reflect on our favorite moments of the past year. Hearing what the kids say is the best part.

What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?
How much I love football – Go Bucks!

If you could quickly and easily learn any new skill, what would it be?
Piano.

What makes a “good day” at school?
When lessons land well, the discussion is good, and you know you’ve made a difference.

Who was your favorite teacher in school, and why?
Mrs. Newell. She read lots of stories to us, allowed me to be who I am (a bit chatty), and loved each of us for who we were.

What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
I don’t think I can pick just one! Thanksgiving is fabulous, beef and noodles with mashed potatoes, beef bourguignon, chicken parm, shrimp and lemon ricotta… I like to cook.

What is a passage of Scripture you turn to for encouragement?
Luke 1:46-55
