Coach Colley Begins First Year as Varsity Baseball Head Coach

Worthington Christian is excited to formally announce Jason Colley as the next Varsity Baseball Head Coach. We are excited to have Coach Colley assume the head coaching role this Spring after serving as an Assistant Coach with the program last year. Colley will take over the program following the leadership of Michael Kraynak (WC ’06), who served as Head Coach for the 2024 and 2025 seasons before stepping down this summer to spend more time with his family.

“We are excited and fortunate to have Coach Jason Colley as our Head Baseball Coach at Worthington Christian,” Athletic Director Tony Earp said. “Coach Colley has been a dedicated teacher and coach at WC for more than a decade. With his wealth of coaching experience, passion for the game, and deep commitment to our mission, we know he will continue to grow the program, helping our student-athletes develop their love for Christ and their ability to play baseball.”

Coach Colley brings more than 25 years of coaching experience to the role. A graduate of Dublin Coffman High School, where he played three sports, Colley began his coaching career in baseball and basketball at the high school level in Dublin. He went on to coach high school baseball while living in the Chicago suburbs before returning to Columbus in 2013 to join the Worthington Christian faculty.

Since then, Colley has made a significant impact on Warrior athletics. He restarted and coached the middle school baseball team for seven seasons, served as an Assistant Coach with the Varsity program last season, and has been active in Warrior League and COBA basketball. In addition, he has coached multiple youth travel baseball teams over the years, including teams for his two sons.

Reflecting on his new role, Coach Colley shared, “I am excited to take over a program that has never been healthier—not only in terms of results on the field, but also in the relationships built between players, coaches, and parents. The Warrior baseball program has become a place where young men are challenged to grow as ball players, in their faith, and as servant leaders. It is my goal to continue down that path while also creating new opportunities for younger players through youth development programs and facility improvements.”

Coach Colley graduated from Taylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies and earned a Master of Arts in Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He began his teaching career at WC in 2013 in the High School Social Studies department before transitioning to Middle School, where he now teaches Seventh Grade Bible. He and his wife, Shelley, have three children: Michaela (WC ’23), Jameson (WC ’25), and Josiah (WC ’29).

Join us in congratulating Coach Colley on his new role!
